Project Overview. The Continuum/East West Partners is the Master
Developer for the fast-tracked redevelopment of historic Union Station
in the heart of downtown Denver, Colorado. This is the initial phase of
the transit-oriented development project, which integrates
transportation, infrastructure, public realm and vertical development
programs. The project features the rehabilitation of the 125-year old
station, which will transform the 19.5 acre site into the centerpiece of
the regional rail system, accommodating all light and commuter rail
corridors including: AMTRAK, SkiTrain and Regional Transportation
District (RTD) buses, mall shuttles, circular connections and other
modes such as commercial buses taxis and bicycles. An additional 13
acres has been procured to complete the transportation infrastructure,
which includes an at-grade, eight-track commuter rail station,
relocation of the RTD bus facility below-grade, relocation of the light
rail station at-grade to the Consolidated Main Line (CML) and
construction of the new Downtown Circulator for easy commuter and light
rail transfers.
