PACO provided contract administration, cost control, document management, audit support services, QA & QC, claims resolution, scheduling, change control and configuration management during the construction of Puerto Rico’s $2 billion rail transit system.
The San Juan Metropolitan Region Rapid Transit, known as “Tren Urbano” is the regional rail transit system in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) approach was used for project delivery.
Phase I provided service from Bayamon to Santurce via Rio Pedras and Hato Rey. It consists of 17.2-kilometers of double-track, fixed guide way rail line, 14 stations, a rail yard with maintenance shops, rail vehicles, power distribution, traction power, track work, communications, and the control system. The alignment combines at-grade, elevated, below-grade (open-cut) and underground structures
