The SNJLRTS (River Line) project involved the development of a 34mile light rail system connecting Trenton and Camden, featuring 20 stations and providing critical links to regional transit services including NJ TRANSIT, Amtrak, PATCO, and SEPTA. As one of the largest state-funded public transit investments at the time, the project delivered significant infrastructure improvements along the corridor, including upgrades to more than 50 grade crossings and the repair or reconstruction of 17 bridges, enhancing safety, reliability, and regional connectivity.
The project encompassed a wide range of activities from planning and design through construction and into operations and maintenance. Efforts included environmental planning, system and facility design, engineering, and comprehensive project oversight to ensure successful delivery and long-term performance of the rail system.
