PACO Tech, as a subconsultant to STV, provided various services for the South Corridor Light Rail Project (SCLRP), the first line of Charlotte’s rapid transit system. The project consisted of an approximately 11-mile light rail transit (LRT) line extending from Uptown Charlotte south to near the South Carolina border, providing service along a ten-mile corridor to Interstate 485 north of Pineville. The line was designed to improve regional mobility while supporting transit-oriented development throughout the corridor.

The project included 19 station locations selected through a process that emphasized public input and accessibility, with design standards intended to allow each station to complement its surrounding community. A unique element of the SCLRP was the shared-use operation with the Charlotte Trolley along a two-mile segment in South End, including three shared stations in Uptown Charlotte at 7th Street, the Charlotte Transportation Center, and 3rd Street.
