The Jamaica Bus Depot Reconstruction and Expansion project modernized and enlarged the existing MTA Bus facility in Queens to support the operation, maintenance, and storage of up to 300 buses, including articulated and electric fleets. Originally built in 1940, the aging depot underwent a comprehensive redevelopment to replace outdated infrastructure, expand maintenance and operational capacity, and improve long-term service reliability for local and express bus routes throughout Queens. The project enhances the depot’s ability to meet growing transit demands while supporting a modernized, sustainable bus system for the region.
