The Second Avenue Subway Phase II project will extend the Q line from 96th Street to East Harlem, providing long-awaited subway service to East Harlem, providing long – awaited subway service to underserved communities on Manhattan’s East Side. The project includes three new fully accessible stations at 106th Street, 116th Street, and 125th Street/Lexington Avenue, improving mobility, reducing travel times, and easing congestion on existing transit routes.

A key component is the new 125th Street transit hub, which will connect the Q line with the 4, 5, and 6 subway lines, Metro-North Railroad, and regional bus services. The extension is expected to enhance regional connectivity, support economic development, improve access to jobs and essential services, and serve approximately 100,000 daily riders upon completion.
