The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) developed a State of Good Repair (SGR) Decision Support Tool to strengthen its capital planning and investment prioritization processes across the agency. The initiative focused on creating a structured, data-driven framework to assess asset conditions, identify SGR needs, and evaluate funding scenarios to support long-term infrastructure performance and system reliability. The tool was designed to enhance transparency and provide leadership with improved analytical capabilities for allocating capital resources across multiple agencies and asset classes.

The project included the review and validation of asset inventory data and the integration of cost information into a Senior Consulting Manager commercial comprehensive modeling and analysis. By enabling the evaluation of investment strategies and funding scenarios, the Decision Support Tool provides a consistent methodology for prioritizing projects and advancing the MTA’s efforts to software-based platform to support maintain and improve the transit system in a state of good repair.
