PACO provided cost estimation services for new walls, doors, finishes, and cabinetry during extensive renovations to the North Central Bronx Hospital.
Since opening in 1976, North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH) has developed some of the finest clinical programs in the nation. The hospital was the first in the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation to introduce primary care team modules in a hospital setting. In the late 1980s, the facility began expanding its mission as a primary care community hospital with the introduction of evening and weekend hours, the establishment of an HIV center and the expansion of inpatient behavioral health services. This rehabilitation project was part of a long-term effort to modernize the hospital and improve the quality of care and capacity of critical services provided by NCB. It included the demolition of the existing Neo-Natal and Delivery room and the construction of new facilities.
NCB has 25 adult and 30 newborn beds. The Emergency Room, open 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, is a 911 receiving hospital. Included in the Emergency Room are a new and expanded psychiatric emergency service and a community support program for victims of sexual assault.
